About
Aodann is all about amazing views, comfort and design. The architect-designed house was built to sit into the hillside while making the most of the stunning views of Loch Ewe, all the way from the open sea to the pretty Highland village of Poolewe and to the mountains beyond.
We wanted it to sit into the hillside to minimise the visual impact on this beautiful area and also be as low energy as possible with lots of insulation, high quality double glazing on windows that are positioned for maximum solar gain. We’ve furnished the house with some of our favourite design pieces and original art. We hope you will love it as much as we do. A bit part of the build is Caithness stone inside and out. We have also chosen lovely fabrics by Scottish company Anta for many of the rooms.
We are just a short distance from Poolewe which has a shop, pub and café. Just beyond the village you will find the National Trust for Scotland property Inverewe House and Gardens which is a wonderful day out and has a choice of cafes. Gairloch with its range of shops, cafes and pubs is a short drive (or cycle!) away.
Aodann was completed in 2016 and sleeps six (King, double, one king/twin). There is lots of parking plus outdoor space for eating, relaxing or wildlife spotting.
